Unable to update controller

I am a preview member and I am trying to update my controller to the latest firmware. However when I plug in my controller and press update it prompts me that no controller is connected. I have even removed the batteries from the controller and plugged it
in to ensure that the 3 usb cables I have used are functioning properly and they are. I have tried hard resetting, but that still didn't fix the issue. Thanks in advance for your help.

Controller bricked after firmware update

An upcoming update to the accessories app will enable continuing update for a controller left in DFU mode. I will post a message here once available, for those unable to update.

 

Xbox 360 won't connect online only offline

Why after the recent update I am unable to connect my controller while I am online. I am able to do this while I am offline tho.

Im not a preview member but i also am unable to update any of my 3 controllers today after the feb update. In the past i have been able to do the controller updates without issue but not today

2 different usb cables

With our without batteries

With our without a head set plugged in

With 2 different firmwares installed on my 3 controllers 1.1.2182.0 / 1.1.2228.0

I have always had controller random disconnect issues and thought this update would help ...

 

if you are having issues to the point where the Update fails midway and the controller doesn't respond you will need to contact Xbox Customer Support To have a Fullfillment Order created for your Controller for a repair

 

I would stop trying to update it. I had the same issue and got it to start working by using another USB cable I got from turtle beach and it stopped downloading after a few seconds and now the controller is bricked, broke and useless. Someone really messed
up and should fired for this one.

 

Same issue here, not a preview member but the console is not seeing the controller when it is plugged in via USB...

 

I have the same issue. I have tried two different USB cables, and the console will not recognise the controller. I can tell the USB cable is working, because I am able to take out the batteries in the controller when it is plugged in, and the controller
will still work.

Does the USB cable have to be a legitimate Xbox Micro USB or can it be any form of Micro USB? If not then I cannot understand why I am currently unable to update my controllers...

 

Wait… so basically if we do this update theres a 50/50 shot the controller will not work again after and we have to get it repaired? What?! I wouldn't have done it then, now I have one junk controller which i've already taken back to Gamestop once because
it didn't work. I don't think they'll let me take it back again.
