Unable to update Controller with Stereo Adapter plugged in.

When I plug in my stereo adapter that I just purchased, i get the box that states I need to update my controller. I follow the steps provided, but continue to get an error stating that there was a problem with the update.

I have removed my battery from my controller, tried all three USB ports on the Xbox One, I have power cycled the system, and I have tried both controllers that I own, but I continue to get the error message when I have the Stereo Adapter plugged in. When
I do not have the adapter plugged in and go through the settings page, I can update my controller without the adapter plugged in. Even after do this, when I plug in the stereo adapter, I get the box stating I need to update my controller and get the same
Issue with the update error.

I have already contacted Xbox tech support via chat, to no avail. They did advise me that I should post this information on here in hopes to get an update and a resolution for this issue as soon as possible.

Just checking but did you update your controller with your headset plugged in? Its got to be plugged in.

Did you update the controller with the adapter and headset plugged in? Use a USB cable to connect the controller to the USB port on the side of the console then follow the steps at the link below to update it.

I have this same exact problem. One rep says I should replace the controller, another rep told me that the updates were being sent out in waves.

 

I have the same problem. I chatted with tech support tonight, they said the adapter is faulty or the controller port is loose or faulty.

 

That is the lamest thing ever. Tech Support probably doesn't even have an answer. I'm sure the higher tiers of their tech support are test and trying to find out what the issue is. Your talking to minimal knowledge people who are reading off a card. I'm
put everything on the fact these people are reading from a script. I personally wouldn't go out and buy a new controller.

Yup same here. God wouldn't it be great if Microsoft would ship out something that would work?
