    Unable to update account from "child" to "adult"


    I'll keep this short

    My dad and I tried earlier this afternoon to change my account status from "child" to "adult." We logged into his Xbox account and followed the steps to change it, but every time we changed the defaults to "adult" it would switch back to "custom" after we
    moved to another screen, which means I was still a "child" account. It would not retain the "adult" status no matter what we did. My dad called an Xbox representative earlier, and they said that I'm not eligible to be an "adult" account until I turn 21 (I'm
    20 now).

    Is there any way around this? Or do I just have to wait until I turn 21?

    Hey there Seemanator thanks for the update.

    We suggest signing into the adult account and from the adult account give the child account permissions. Go to settings>account>family settings>select the child account>Privacy and online safety and from there select adult settings.

    Once that is done go to the child account and try it again and let us know how it goes!

    Hi Hendo,

    Thanks for coming to the forums. If the account is still a child it is recommended to keep the adult account assigned to the family until the child account graduates to an adult account. If you are an adult and made a child account in error there is

    ways you can prove your age.     As on Xbox.com you are unable to change the birthdate at all.
