    Hi. I've been on the preview program for awhile now and I got a message saying that xbox will perform an update/upgrade. But I think after they did that, the ability to turn my TV off no longer works when I'm on a different input source (e.g. HDMI 2).
    It used to be able to do this. It still works if I'm on HDMI 1 (my Xbox one input source). The only thing that works on both input sources is the volume control. Anyway, any ideas on how I can revert back before the update? Or how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

    Not auto-switching to HDMI input source

    TV is configured, all the stuff works (tests for mute, info). When configured, it turn on the TV correctly, but it doesn't switch to the console HDMI input source. In fact, if I switch manually, and then turn on the console, it return to TV source.

    So I think it only sends the HDMI-CEC command for turn on TV, but not for switch input source. So if I am on console HDMI input source, it sends the turn on command, so the TV goes to the default source, the TV.

    Please fix it. For media remote it would be good the auto-switching source feature, if not we need the TV remote for switching the input source.

    New Xbox 360 S & HDMI

    Okay, so I just replaced my older 360 for my first 360 S. The old 360 came with the HD AV cables that had the switch on the plug so you can set if for an HDTV. When I used this cable with my Samsung HDTV, the TV would automatically detect the input source,
    and I was able to switch the input before the Xbox was turned on. Now that I have a 360 S and am finally using an HDMI cable, the TV doesn't detect an additional input source so I am unable to switch sources from "TV". However, if I turn on the Xbox first,
    it appears to recognize the input as I am able to switch to the correct input after. So I guess the main question is: is that normal when using an HDMI cable? Do TV's not usually detect the HDMI input until after the source (Xbox) has been turned on?

    It's also worth checking your TV settings, I recently purchased a Samsung ES8000 TV and for about a week my wife would call me at work saying the TV kept turning itself off, turned out there is a setting on the TV that turns it off when no interaction is
    received from the user after a set period of time such as changing channel/input source etc.

    Newbie question: Switching back to television mode

    Most hdtv's out there are going to have a source or input button on the tv and remote to allow you to switch between the different components you have things plugged into on the tv. Just shutting off the Xbox or tv doesn't take you ff of that component.
    Yes, unplugging the tv will switch it back, but using that input/source button on the tv or remote makes it much easier.

    After some quick research, I'm going ot assume you have a standard tv and not the Roku streaming player (the little box thing) so you would simply plug the Xbox One S into the HDMI input of the tv, select that input on the tv and turn the xbox one and
    off you go ( depending on weather the tv will sit on an input source when there is no input you may have to switch to the HDMI input the Xbox is connected to when the Xbox turns on)

    Mine too in all cases but this one, X1 sends turn on command (black fast switch like when you switch source) and then it goes to TV that is the default source. If I turn on the TV using its own remote, it uses the last source. If I turn on the blu-ray player
    it switch to its HDMI input source.

    It is the X1 the one not switching to its source and the only one that switchs to TV source if I set the "Turn on TV" HDMI in console options.
