unable to talk in xbox one live parties but able to hear.

in my parties i join i can hear and see them fine but cannot talk to them. my mic works in no platform for xbox but works in the games that i play. why is this and how do i fix it? thanks -

Do I need a skype account to talk on party chat?

On the XBOX-One I can get into party chats, but I cant hear anyone talking, or I cant talk. Do I need to get a skype account to be able to hear and talk to my friends in the party chat?

 

Can hear friends in lobby, but once in party chat can't hear them

Alright a bit weird here. To start out with I have an open nat.

When my headset is plugged in and we are in a lobby, I can hear my friends talking and they can hear me. But once we switch over to party chat they can still hear me, but now I am unable to hear them.

Now if I unplug my headset while in party chat, I am able to talk through my kinect and they can hear me, I am also able to then hear them talking to me through the speakers. Does anyone have a clue as to whats going on here? I am using all xbox one accessories.

 

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
the console.

Thank you for keeping us updated. With a moderate NAT type, you start to lose certain functions related to online gaming and chat. I recommend performing the Steps needed to open up your NAT. This link should help you out :

Following the steps for UPnP should be the quickest way to open your NAT. Be sure to unplug your router for a few minutes after performing any steps involving your router settings.
