Unable to swap Microsoft Account

Sorry no one has been able to respond to you within a reasonable time frame, I hope you have a good new year!

Let me try help you the best I can. When using the swap method through the 360 you have to take a few things into consideration

• Your profile must remain on the console for 30 days
• Your new Microsoft Account set up for the swap must be registered for 30 days
  
• Re-downloading your profile within that 30 days will reset the counter.

Solutions:

• Wait until your Microsoft Account (For Gmail) is registered for 30 days and leave the profile on the console for 30 days without re-downloading. It might be a bit difficult if you have to recover the Gamertag to your console.
  

ALTERNATIVELY

1. Visit https://account.live.com/names/Manage
   
2. Verify via a security code to pass security
3. Add E-mail alias
4. Add an existing email address as a Microsoft account alias
5. Verify the (GMAIL) e-mail address you added
6. Make primary
7. Remove the old e-mail address (optional, not advised)

Also, could I add an alias to this account and make that my primary account for Xbox and then later on remove the other account?

the steps may be the same but with the new UI on xbox one the option is no longer there. There is of course a chance there is something I'm missing or didn't notice but I've looked multiple times.

Hello sp00fy,

I've tried these steps previously personally, they are quite a headache actually to do. Although, I do think the steps work quite the same. You do have to make sure the account you are transferring to is atleast 30 days old or you won't be able to do the
step to finalize it. Hope this helps and continue to ask if you need more help.
