    Unable to sign into XBOX App on Windows 10 - error 0x409 0x80070002


    When I try and sign into the XBox app on Windows 10 I get the error codes 0x409/0x80070002.

    Im logging in using a local account, using my XBox live account. If I login to Windows with an Admin account it works.

    Ive don loads of googling, and tried everything ive seen - deleting credentials, reinstalling the app etc, but it doesnt work.

    Any ideas?

    Hi I have been trying to sign into my xbox account on the app but it always comes up with the error (0x409) 0x80070002. I want to sign in so I can play with my friends on Minecraft Windows 10 Edition I try on it but the sign in crashes, I don't have the
    admin password either.

    If you can help that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    I suggest to restart the computer (1) or if that doesn't work do in this link use the second method described on how fix the problem.

    Error 0x80070002 When Starting Xbox Live

    Hi there,

    I think the problem was how the command was input into the command prompt. I believe there should be no spaces after and before the asterisks (*). Copy and paste this command into the command prompt: Get-AppxPackage *Xbox app* | Remove-AppxPackage

    Copy and pasting should ensure it is done correctly. Once it's done restart your computer and open the Microsoft Store, then search for and download the Xbox App again.

    If that doesn't help, I found a helpful article regarding this issue that could also be caused from a missing built-in app. Look over the article and go over all the steps:
