Unable to sign into my XBOX

Hello everyone,

I'm hoping that someone can help me with signing in.

I own an XBOX Series X and when I originally purchased it, set it up, it all went without issue.

For various reasons, I haven't played on it for quite some months, possibly a year or so.

During that time, I know I have changed my MS account password on at least two occasions.

The other day I thought that I might have a game of COD.

The account screen wanted my email and password (it still had my gamertag, but still wanted me to type my email address in the enter account details box).

No matter how many times I have tried, I am still unable to log in. Which of course means I'm unable to play anything.

For security reasons, my MS account password is VERY long. And I have 2FA on my account. And I have double checked my password, and had my wife check it as I type, but nothing.

Btw, I have connected a keyboard, just in case. Didn't make any difference.

Am I missing something? Probably a brain cell!

I did remove my account from my xbox to see if that helps, but nothing doing.

Now I'm wondering if a full factory reset on the xbox would help? Or is that a useless and futile exercise?

I'm used to my 2FA and MS Authenticator taking care of logins without having to resort to typing long passwords. But this doesn't appear to be giving me that option.

Can one of you be kind enough to point me in the right direction please.
