Unable to sign into my Xbox Console

Hey guys,

I'm trying to sign into my Xbox console, and after I've put in my PIN, it asks me for my email address with the following information (I can't put a screenshot as it's connected to my TV. Anything in [ ] is just details of what I see on the screen):

Sign in YOUR EMAIL, PHONE, OR SKYPE

[Under the sign in, it has this information]:

If you have a Microsoft account, use that here. Otherwise, enter your preferred email address or phone number to create a new account.

[then it has this below]

Use another device Forgotten your account?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not sure why it isn't allowing me to sign in, as the email address I use for the Xbox is the same one I use for all my Microsoft stuff.

I've managed to sort it out. I've done a refresh, and it's now worked!! I now can watch Mr. Robot tonight!!

This was not mentioned in your initial post, however thank you for explaining the issue. Does this also happen if you select the "Use another device" option instead? Did you try any troubleshooting steps before contacting us?

Oops, my bad. I'm sorry for not being clearer. I thought that I had. Anywhooo.

If I select "Use another Device," it doesn't do anything. If I select "Forgotten Account," it goes to a page where I can enter my email address or phone number. Then, it brings up email addresses that I'm using now or haven't used in a long time and are no longer available.

The troubleshooting steps that I've used by looking on Bing are just for supporting users who have either forgotten their accounts or their passwords. They don't contain help for this case. I am guessing that this isn't a widely known issue?

Thank you for posting on the Xbox Communities Forum. On the sign in page, simply enter your Microsoft account email, and then your password, and it should sign you in.

Let me know if you run into any issues with sign in process. If you do, be sure to describe the problem in as much detail as possible.

I see, have you power cycled your console?

Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or on your controller.

If the issue persists, it could be a network issue, please try restarting your router/modem.

If that doesn't help, make sure your Xbox is up-to-date:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide. Select Profile & system> Settings > System > Updates.

Under Updates, if you see "Console update available", select it to begin updating.
