  1. Unable to sign in to Xbox Live on backwards compatible games

Hello. I've recently been able to play COD: Black Ops II using my Xbox One console. The game will now load, but my Xbox 360 profile will not load Xbox Live. My Xbox One is completely able to connect to Xbox Live. I have tried all troubleshooting issues. I
cannot currently contact Xbox Support, since I am currently in the middle of a security transfer.

    :)

Getting signed out on backwards compatible Xbox 360 games(xbox one)

Every time I got to play an xbox 360 game on my xbox one s it signs me out of xbox live and I am no longer able to sign back in. So no games will save or am unable to play couch co-op on them.

I have tried deleting the 360 saves and clearing the cache(as suggested on Reddit) but its still the same.

Everything works fine with xbox one games its just the backwards compatible ones that sign me out.

    Any help would be great

    Thanks

    Hey there,

Sorry to hear about the issue with playing Black Ops 2 through Backward Compatibility. Let's have you try these steps to clear the Xbox 360 cache on the Xbox One and see if it helps.

    • Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.
(Note: Tapping the Xbox button will open the guide from any other screen on the console.)

    • Select Settings.
    • Select All settings.
    • Select System and then select Storage.
    • Select Clear local Xbox 360 storage.
    • Select Yes and restart the console. (This will not affect your cloud saved games or Xbox One games and profiles.)

Let us know how it goes!

  5. After doing this, I am now unable to play any games regardless of online status, as I can not download my profile. As stated before, my issue was with connecting to Xbox Live, not playing Black Ops 2 itself.

  6. Looks like after I had posted, there was a service alert which could have affected not only this game, but all games and signing in. To clarify, since the service alert has resolved. Are you still seeing the issue after trying the steps? This error is usually
cased by a cache issue on the console and these steps clear the cache and allows you to sign in with a fresh connection.

Okay, let's check the network stats on the console and see if there is an underlying issue that might be going on.

Run a Detailed Network Statistics test on the Xbox One console and please provide the following information.

    • Download Speed
    • Upload Speed
    • Latency
    • Packet Loss %
    • Wireless Strength (if applicable)
    • NAT Type

Let's then have you try to do a Network power cycle, to see if it helps.

    • Start by powering off and unplugging your Modem, Router (if applicable) and Xbox One console.
    • After 60 seconds of the devices being powered off, turn on the power to your Modem and then the Router (if applicable).
    • Wait another 60 seconds for the network equipment to turn on and gain the proper signals from your ISP. Then turn on your Xbox One console.

That information will help us determine the next best steps. Thanks!

My thread got abandoned, too, but fortunately I got this issue fixed without the forum. I had to connect with a wired internet connection for it to download the profile. After that, you can switch back to wireless and play as normal. For some reason, the
profile download chokes over wireless. Fortunately I had an old super-long CAT-5 ethernet cable lying around to temporarily make the connection.

  11. Sorry about the delay, the forums teams don't work on weekends when you last responded. As Thax80 suggested though, there could be an issue with downloading the profile over wireless, so it's best to try a wired connection next. The stats look just fine
aside from the 62% strength, so try the wired connection next and see if it helps.

    Trouble acessing... uh... servers?

I may be having a similar issue. Whenever I play a backwards compatible game, it tells me i'm signed in, but not connected to xbox live. When I try to connect, it says i'm unable to. I can connect fine on my 360 however.

360 games on xbox one having xbox live connection issues

    Hello Burrowsf2005,

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that your friend is unable to play Xbox 360 backwards compatible games because he is unable to sign in and connect to Xbox Live. This is a known issue. This issue has been occurring for several
    days now. The
    Xbox Support Team on Twitter
have been made aware of this issue, and are working diligently to fix it. There have not been any updates on this issue at the moment. We suggest keeping an eye on the Twitter feed to find out when the issue will be resolved
completely. At the moment, we are recommending that people sign out and in to their account on the Xbox One home screen. Once you have signed out and signed back in on the Xbox One home screen, try launching the backwards compatible game. You can repeat this
process until your profile is able to sign in to the backwards compatible menu. Be sure to let us know the results!

    Game with gold Games

Hi Doug! When you sign in to your new Xbox One S with the same Xbox Live account, there will be a "Ready to Install" section listing all games that you are able to install onto that Xbox. If your old games (Games with Gold or purchased) are backwards compatible,
they will show up there! Here is a list of current Backwards Compatible games https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/backward-compatibility , and here is
the FAQ section for Backwards Compatibility as well https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/backward-compatibility#faqSection

    Hope that helps!
