Unable to sign in to Microsoft Store/use account/change pin

No such luck I'm afraid. After updating, restarting, and attempting to do so, I get the same error as before. I've checked and double checked all windows updates and software updates.

Hello MrMoney898, have you checked if you have the latest version of Windows installed, at 21H2, because recently came out the latest update to Windows 10 and 11.

Updates often seen as optional, Microsoft released major fixes this week, and make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed.

If you haven't updated yet, click the link below, update and then make all subsequent security updates.

Also make sure all Xbox Apps are up to date in the store.

You can set a sign in option on your Microsoft account to use a pin instead of password.

How do I find my Windows pin?

To change your PIN in Windows 10, you may follow the steps below:

1. Open Settings (keyboard shortcut: Windows + I) > Accounts > Sign-in options.
2. Click the Change button under PIN.
3. Enter your current PIN; then, enter and confirm the new PIN underneath.
4. Tap I forgot my PIN.

If you signed in to Windows 10 using your Microsoft account, the Xbox app will take the credentials you've used to sign in. There's a possibility that the PIN code you're asked to enter is the PIN code of your Windows 10 user account. Let's remove the PIN
code. Here are the steps:

1. Click Start and select Settings.
2. Select Accounts.
3. Select Sign-in options, under PIN, click Remove.
4. Confirm the changes by entering your profile password.

If the same instance occurs after removing the PIN code and changing your user account's sign-in options, we suggest that you sign in to Xbox.com. This is to verify if there's an issue

It appears that you are trying to sign in another Microsoft account to sign into Minecraft: Java Edition and is unable to because it is asking for a pin. Let us check and see on what we can do to help address your concern.

We would like to ask few questions to help us isolate the issue further.

1. Is the 'another Microsoft account' you are trying to sign in was your other account or an account by another user of the computer?

2. Are you sign in as local account or administrator account?

3. Has there been any changes with the device before this issue happen?

4. Are you able to access the device after starting it up like access any files on it using your account when signed in?

It is possible that the account you are trying to sign in had used PIN in signing in the specific account. If that account is owned by somebody, then you need to reach out for the PIN. If you have you are the owner of the account and not sure or forgot Windows Hello Pin, you can reset it through following the steps provided in the link below:
