Unable to sign in//password error

Having issues that is heavily hindering my gaming. Below is a step-by-step of what happens.

-Try to connect to Xbox LIVE.

-"Sign in with your email and password?" Info on right says, "We need the email address and password for your Microsoft account so we can check and update the security of your Xbox profile. For more info, go to Xbox.com/proofs

-I hit Continue. Enter my CORRECT email address and my CORRECT password. I know them and double checked to make sure (I can sign on Xbox.com with them which are the same password). Loading. Then it says:

"Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.

Code: 80151103"

I've searched the topics but all the replies are just links to other topics and nothing really gets answered. Now this "profile security" has been bugging me for well over a year. I don't own a mobile phone yet it wants me to put a phone in. I always press
the Guide button because that's what security is - giving less information about your personal things. I could still play games and my profile is clean and follows all guidelines and regulations. I'm just wondering why this "security" is not letting me connect
to Xbox LIVE and preventing me to play my games online. This is ridiculous.

How to Troubleshoot profile-password errors

It is possible to restrict access to your Xbox LIVE profile from any console by making it necessary to use your Microsoft account password to sign into your profile.

You may encounter the following errors when you try making your password necessary for sign-in:

• "Sorry, there was a problem requiring your password for sign-in on other consoles. Your password is still remembered for other consoles. Try again later, or try requiring password on sign-in from www.xbox.com. Visit xbox.com/security if you think someone else is accessing your account."
  
• "Sorry, there was a problem requiring your password for sign-in on this console. Your password is still remembered on this console. Try again later, or try requiring password on sign-in from www.xbox.com. Visit xbox.com/security if you think someone else is accessing your account."

Solution: Set a password requirement on Xbox.com

1) Click My Account

2) Go to Settings & Preferences

3) Select Xbox 360 Profile Protection

4) Sign in using your Microsoft account (email and password associated with your Xbox LIVE account). You will see the number of consoles that don't require a sign-in password to access your Xbox LIVE profile.

5) Click Protect Profile. This will make it necessary to download your profile again using your Microsoft account before it can be used on any console. All previous copies of your profile will not work, and any changes or achievements that had not yet been saved to Xbox LIVE will be lost.

Important: If you feel that your password has been compromised, you can change your Microsoft account password by following these steps:

1) Sign into accounts.live.com using your Microsoft account.

2) Got to Account Information, and next to Password, click Change.

If you are unable to set a sign-in password on Xbox. com, you should check the Xbox LIVE service status.

If the Xbox LIVE service status is up and running, you should repeat the process later.

If the problem persists, contact Xbox Support.

 

Cannot sign on to xbox - error code 0x87DD0005

I am unable to sign in to xbox (Microsoft daily solitaire) - reset password twice - also checked time and date settings are automatic..... How do I get past this error to sign in? Any assistance is appreciated....thanks

 

you say Profile security, so your solution should be

-> sign in on https://account.live.com

-> Chose "security and Password"

-> select a way to retrieve a verification code and enter it, if this is not possible select "i can not use These anymore" which will delete your current security Information and let you manage them after 30d have passed, you can Login on your console during
this time

-> when you have entered your verification code you will see your current security Setup, xbox requires 2 Information to be added and validated, you may Chose if 2email, 2phonenumbers, or a mix of both is used.

-> when adding them on console, they request Validation this way, when adding them via the Website itself, Validation is done right away

-> once completed restart your console and there should be no popup anymore
