Unable to sign in on the Windows 10 Xbox app

See title.

On the Xbox app if I click the user icon in the top right and then sign in, either nothing happens or the window goes white briefly. Going to settings -> account shows that my store account is logged in correctly but my "Microsoft Account used for Xbox" is not. Clicking sign in under Microsoft account does nothing.

I can sign in with no problem on the Xbox Game Bar and the MS Store.

Please help me to sign in, I've had to turn gamepass renewal off until this is fixed because without being able to sign in I can't install anything, making it worthless.

I have no idea why it's only affecting PCs but I talked with Microsoft tech support and they said that this is a known issue with their servers and they have engineers working to fix it. I have no idea how long this will take.

Similar issue for me, except my error code is (0x409) 0x80070424. I'm extremely frustrated. I enjoy streaming my Xbox to my PC because I like my small monitor being close to me rather than a TV further away. I just streamed 2 days ago without any issues
at all. Really at a loss of what to do.

Yes, I have the same problem, I think they will solve it tomorrow.We need to be patient
because these problems are hard to solve.

I had this issue around a year ago. I could tell you all the 10 steps I followed to solve it, unfortunately what helped me to solved this was to restart my PC as it comes here:

In the part of Windows 10 click on "Reset this PC" these instructions will help you to solve the problem, you can even leave your important files!
