Unable to sign in and progress in Forza Horizon 4 at all past the title screen

Just like the title says

I'm unable to sign into a Microsoft account due to unexplainable reasons, therefore completely blocking me from playing my game.

At the title screen, after pressing one of the two buttons (start or accessibility settings), I'm greeted with the familiar "Sign in to your Microsoft account" pop-up (for reference: https://i.imgur.com/jp91Civ.png). However, this is as far as I can go as it is impossible to proceed any further from this point onwards.

Trying to use the account I am according to the pop-up already signed in, does nothing except refresh the pop-up, bringing me back to the sign-in screen. Weirdly enough, while it does not log me in at all, spamming the option does reveal the "Unable to sign in due to multiple login attempts" screen.

Using the "Use another account" option provides even less results, as clicking it just immediately throws me out of the sign-in screen, telling me that I "may not proceed without being signed in to a profile" (https://i.imgur.com/o9tzJEj.png), which essentially ends up in me being completely locked out from playing my game.

I've tried multiple different solutions to no avail. My settings tell me that everything is fine with my Xbox Networking, I can sign in just fine in any other Microsoft program or website such as this one.

I've already tried contacting Forza support for this issue, but their response was telling me I should try my luck here as they are unable to help me with my situation. I'm running the game from Steam so I'm unsure if this is known for having issues similar to this, and I've already tried reinstalling the game to no avail.

I hope there's a solution I can follow to finally solve this Problem I've been facing for days now so I can finally enjoy playing the game.

Unfortunately, even after trying out what you've told me, I'm still unable to play. I appreciate your efforts though!

I guess I will try contacting the Forza team again, despite not really finding a lot of luck there. Not sure if it'll work out as last time they weren't sure how to help me either, but we'll see. Thank you again for your help!

So, this is really odd.

You could try this:

First, make sure your windows and all its services are up to date:

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available;

Then try this:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

If it still doesn't work:

In the windows search bar type Powershell > Right click and select open as administrator > Type the command: "get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-Appxpackage –allusers" > Wait for the process to finish and then restart the PC and try again.

Forza Horizon 5 does NOT have any announced or planned cross-progression from Forza Horizon 4. Aside from Forza Horizon 1 (which did had loyalty rewards for Forza Motorsport titles), there has never been cross-progression for Forza Horizon titles. You always had to start fresh with each game.

And about Forza Horizon 4: the lack of possibility to use the same save between Steam and Microsoft Store comes from the technical point of the each game. Both use a wholly different methods of saving which is far too much work to make them co-operate, ESPECIALLY considering that Forza Horizon 4 is way past its' prime.
