Unable to send messages

So I just recently purchased and Xbox One S. I had an Xbox One a year ago, bought live for my account and was able to message my friends without any issues. I signed into the same xbox account, bought xbox live again and went to message my friends, but it
tells me there is a problem with my account messaging. So I proceeded to the website, tried to message my friends from there and I get the error "Due to your past behavior, your account is unable to send messages". Now here's the kicker, I have never gotten
in trouble on xbox live, I checked my account online and it has a clean record. I also contacted xbox one support, we did a troubleshoot of my xbox, still unable to send messages to my friends, so he told me to come here and make a post, I could potentially
get some more help.

I would really like to be able to message my friends and let them know I'm back on live. If anyone could help me with this issue, I would greatly appreciate it!

Ever since the Xbox One servers have gone up I've had trouble with messages and other service problems on my Xbox 360. Yeah the One is great, but Microsoft, don't forget about the 360, in which I don't spend $60+ a year on service that requires me to try
10+ tries to send a message. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Unable to send messages

I never had a problem sending messages until about 3 days ago. Now when I try to send one I get a Validation Error message about making sure my privacy settings are set to allow messaging. So I go into xbox.live and look at all my settings, which have
never changed, and see that they are set to allow messaging, but I still can't message.

go sign in with your gamertag or email and see what actions MS have against your account. if you are like me, your record is clean and you still can't send messages. still on 360 and this just started happening in the last few days for me. support is clueless.

Yeah man my account is clean. I've checked it on that site you linked me, also MS support checked my account and said it's clean, no offenses EVER. I legit just bought my xbox one s, signed into my live account after a year and can't send messages. I've
power cycled my box, reset router and had no luck. Last thing is resetting my box, which I don't want to do..as I don't want to lose some games I've got on there or have to reinstall..And I doubt that would fix the issue.

I really hope that there is a solution that comes out soon. I can talk perfectly fine in a party, but I can't send or reply to messages.

So sorry didn't get back to you soon, and the account still hasn't been fixed 3 weeks later. I can send messages in any other imaginative way. Smartglass, xbox.com, 360, 360 backwards compatibility... just not through the Xbox One side guide. I have pretty
much stopped playing for the last little bit if the fix ever happens. I am annoyed about this and they wont escalate me.

Not sure if you're having the same problem but I had something similar happen.

My friend was "offline" and I could not join his game, even though he sent an invite.

He had to be shown as online before it worked.
