Unable to send game invite to friend through Xbox Console Companion App on Windows 10

Although I know that this issue regards Xbox more than Microsoft itself, I found it rather difficult to ask a question on their site.

A friend and I are trying to play Forza Horizon 4 together, but I'm unable to invite him to my session (and vice versa). Every time I send him an invite, no matter if from in-game or outside of it, the invite just won't get sent.

I reckon the core of the issue is the fact that *both* of us appear to be offline in the Xbox Console Companion app, even though we've set every possible setting to do the opposite. I've tried removing and adding him again, fiddling with the settings of
my account, inviting him from every possible menu, restarting multiple times, even giving the application time to *supposedly* refresh its data, but to no avail.

I have to add that I managed to play with another friend a few months ago and there were no issues of the sort that I could recall. He even appears to be online in the Companion app.

It is indeed frustrating because one of the key components of the game is playing with friends.

There is also a XBox Live status alert at the moment for Social and Gaming.

I did not, and yet I'm 90% certain it won't change anything, as I suppose it is but an extension of the Companion App. (something the likes of Steam overlay)

Yes, my friend is also on PC.

If you go to
your Xbox.com Profile does it show you offline there as well?

One thing I would double check is your
Online Safety and Privacy Settings. See if any of those settings might be causing this sort of issue.

Then can you provide some information on what it says for your PC under Settings > Gaming > Xbox Networking? Particularly for NAT and Server Connectivity? I'm willing to bet if Game Bar is still having an issue, that it's a NAT/Connectivity issue, and
would further take odds that those issues are related to Teredo tunneling. Let us know and we can dig deeper if we need to.

Have you tried using the Game Bar in Windows 10? You can activate it by pressing "Win+G" buttons. I've been able to join my friends on Xbox parties through there. I haven't tried using the Console Companion app, so can't say if that's worked for me or
not.

Is your friend also on PC?

In the Xbox console companion app on my PC, there is no option for voice invites like on my phone, I get the invites through game bar but still nothing through the Xbox console companion app
