  1. Unable to select Network Settings or Update Settings

I am helping a friend through with his Xbox One. The current issues are as follow:

-Cannot select Network Settings to connect to the internet. I click on it and nothing shows up. It makes the clicking animation but remains on the screen.

-Cannot select Connect to Xbox Live. Same issue as above

-I have since tried an ethernet cable. Icons such as friend list, messages, and store became available but all are empty.

-I can play games but it asks me to sign in. I try and it's a repeat of the above issues.

-Cannot update either. Same issue. Click but nothing happens.

I am currently downloading a diagnostic update but would greatly appreciate it if I could get some help to see if there is another way to resolve this issue.

    :)

  2. Yeah. Can't connect.

    Hello Blorfenburger,

I think this may solve your problem:

    - Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and then select System Settings.

    - Select Network Settings.

    - Select Wired Network or the name of your wireless network, if you are prompted to do so.

    - Select Test Xbox LIVE Connection.

-Select YES so you could update your console

    constant disconnection

Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and then select System Settings.

    Select Network Settings.

Select Wired Network or the name of your wireless network, if you are prompted to do so.

    Select Test Xbox LIVE Connection.

Select Yes if you are prompted to update the console software.

The last XBOX360 system update was February 19, 2013. If you have recently updated you may have another issue with your internet or conectivity.

Try doing a hard reset on the console. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.
Once it is back up and operational test for results. Let us know. Good Luck!

  5. I did all that. Nothing changed. What I think happened was my neighbor was suffering from the green screen of death. He downloaded the diagnostic to fix. However, he didn't see anything happening and shut it off. I think that messed up the update.

  7. Yes. He tried that but when it wouldn't immediately go past the green screen he shut it off. Im thinking of doing a factoty reset. It's irritating not being able to click on anything.

Select the Clear button, then restart your console.

    And also:

Press the Xbox button on your controller.

    Go to Settings.

    Select Network.

    Select Network Settings.

    Select Advanced Network Settings.
