Unable to select MS account as payment option

Hello,

So over the past week I've tried several times to buy Red Dead Redemption and now today Shadow Complex as well from the web store. However, it doesn't find my Microsoft account anymore, even though the balance is sufficient for the whole purchase. The
only options that show up are PayPal and credit card. There's no reason to use those though when MS already has some of my petty "cash".

So, help please?

To be clear, I know the R* sale is over, I bought RDR+Undead Nightmare last night via console and on X360 it did find my MS account and use those funds. The web store for Xbox is great though, and it can be less of a hassle to load the store on PC/mobile
than to quit out whatever game I'm playing and use the console store (just not when a payment option goes missing).

How to Manage your Xbox LIVE payment options

Overview

You can choose to use more than one payment method for your Xbox LIVE account. The payment options include credit cards and PayPal accounts. You can use these payment options to buy items from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

The 2-year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract uses only credit cards as the payment option. The other payment options like Debit Cards, Prepaid cards and PayPal are not valid for this subscription. However, you can change your payment to another credit card.

If it is before the end of the two years and there is no credit card associated with your account, it is assumed you have terminated the subscription, and you will be charged an Early Termination Fee and any applicable taxes.

It is easy to edit your payment options on your console or at Xbox.com

Steps to Follow

Add or change a payment option using your console

1) Use your Xbox LIVE gamertag to Sign in.

2) Proceed to Settings and then select Account.

3) Select Manage Payment Options, and then choose either of the following:

• If you want to add a new credit card, select Add Credit Card.
• If you want to use your PayPal account on Xbox LIVE, select Add PayPal. You will be required to enter your PayPal username and password. Follow the instructions to add PayPal as a payment option. You cannot use PayPal as a payment option for the 2 year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract. PayPal is not available in all regions.

4) After making changes to payment options, select Update Payment Option.

Add or Change a payment option on Xbox.com

1) Go to My Account.

2) Select Payments and Billings and click on Manage Payment Options.

3) You may be required to Sign in using your Microsoft account (email and password).

4) Proceed to do either of the following:

If you want to edit a payment option, select Edit.

If you want to add a payment option, you can do either of the following:

• Click on Add New Credit Card and enter the credit card information
• Click on PAY with PayPal and follow the instructions.

Is this game backward compatible for X360?

 

Sorry for the double post, but when trying to edit, it said permission denied.

Also, the support page chat client hung for a minute or two, said no Ambassador could be found with a prompt to reword my message - but the text box was disabled and I could not reword my message without restarting the chat client. I had already tried
support.xbox.com/.../contact-us, but when clicking "Downloadable Content" to advance to step 2, the page shows a section with the Xbox 360 loading icon, then disappears. JavaScript and
cookies are enabled, else I could not get so far as step 1 on that page or post here.

 

The website has never been updated to use the currency system to purchase 360 items. In order to use your Microsoft account you have to make the purchases via the console.

 

Well that is certainly less than optimal. It should be fixed to work.

Any idea on the support pages not working right?
