Unable to Save a Card as a New Payment Option.

Maybe, but never on the website.

Since the update that removed Points as a payment option the website has been unable to accept the MSA as a payment option.

It can currently only accept credit cards and PayPal

Thank you for getting back to me DHG, but unfortunately I don't have that option. I'm unable to change the payment method because they keep trying to charge the expired card and won't even give me the option to transfer the information. I'm just frustrated
because I set up the renewal to happen on the new card back in November and they just keep charging the old card.

Please try to make sure that the new card you've added is now the primary card associated with your membership so all charges are put on that card. You'll want to follow the instructions
here under "I already have another payment instrument on file that I would like to use to pay for my
subscription."

If you're still unable to get the account to take the balance from the previous card and shift it over to the new card then please contact phone support by visiting this link

You can add a new payment method and tell your son to select that whenever he wants to purchase an add on

Sign in to the Microsoft account you want to update.

Microsoft account

Go to Payment & billing and select Payment options. You can add or edit payment methods from here.

Under Payment methods, you can Add a new payment method, View or edit card, or Remove card.

Enter your updated info, and select Save.
