Unable to resolve Double NAT Type for xbox one s

Hello,

I've been facing the issue of double NAT type issue whenever I connect my xbox over LAN wire.

I've read about different type of solutions for this particular issue over the internet. I've tried most of them all i.e.

Setting up a DMZ in router,

checking port forwarding configuration,

UPnP configurations,

setting up a static ip address for the console,

clearing MAC address settings in the console.

using different DNS

But i've never been able to achieve even moderate NAT type through the lan wire,

Please note, once over the WiFi, I was able to get open NAT type, but that's about it.

DoubleNAT and multiplayer

Hey! I have a problem with my XBOX ONE S.

On "Current network status", there is always written: "NAT Type: Strict", and "Double NAT detected".

When testing network connection it is all good, but for multiplayer connection and NAT type tests it says: "Your network is not set up".

Im using 4g internet with TP- Link TL MR6400 router.

Can anyone help me to get Nat open?

NAT has to do with internal IP addressing on your network. Most of the time a strict NAT type is caused from having more than one networking device doing NAT. A common example would be you have a modem/router from your ISP that is doing NAT with your own
router plugged into their device, also doing NAT. This results in double NAT and a strict NAT type on Xbox. The best way to resolve this is to either remove your router from the equation or contact your ISP to assist with turning it off on their router.

 

What exactly do you mean when you are "connected to your laptop over LAN wire"?

Are you connecting the Xbox to the laptop, and then the laptop to the internet? Then this is where the double NAT comes from.

Your Router is a NAT device since it has to do "Network Address Translation" for the devices directly connected to the router that access the internet
through one IP address, and if you connect your Xbox through your Laptop, then the Laptop is the second NAT device, as it has to translate it's own "internet-facing" IP address to the multiple devices (in theory you could connect more than just the Xbox to
the Laptop through a network switch or a hub) connected to the laptop.

To resolve your double NAT issue with Laptop, you'll have to open the network interface settings by pressing Windowskey + R and then typing "ncpa.cpl" and pressing OK.

In the network interface window, select both interfaces (the network Interface that connects the Laptop to the internet, and the interface that connects to the Xbox). If necessary, hold the CTRL key and click on each of the two interfaces to select both.

Then right click on one of the selected interfaces, and choose to bridge these connections.

This will then create a network bridge instead of a internet connection sharing that uses NAT.

 

Hey I'm sorry for the grammatical mistake, I meant whenever I've connected my xbox to the router using a LAN cable it doesn't work at all. When I connect it through WLAN, it get's connected but always has Strict NAT type.
