Export RB1 songs now or later?

The twenty free DLC can be downloaded right away. The code that we get is the one you type directly into XBox Live on the Redeem Code section. (Like the Gears if War 2 map pack). There is no messing around with websites like the US versions.

If you have a past due balance owed, you'll have to get that cleared up first before you can redeem your code.

You can go to account.Microsoft.com to see what is owed. If it doesn't allow you to pay the account balance you'll have to speak with phone support in your area to get the balance taken care of. You can reach phone support here:
support.xbox.com/contact-us

To answer you question on stacking - yes you can stack up to 36 months of live.

My point is I went to redeem the code on the xbox and it told me to redeem it on the website. So I went to redeem it on the website and it told me to redeem it on the Xbox. When my friend gave me his spare code his worked immediately.

The 14-day trials tend to have expiration dates and generally don't work if you've previously had (or currently have) a full Xbox Live membership. If you check the fine print on the card itself you might find reference to this.

Now that you've redeemed a different code you'd be unable to redeem the original one at least until the current one expires, depending on the terms of that original code.

You are able to spend those microsoft points on any content avalible in the marketplace on xbox live.

Such as full games, add-ons music, movies, and anything else on the Xbox Live marketplace.

You will be unable to buy a Xbox live Subscription with the microsoft points.

The redeem code option is only used when you have a xbox live Pre paid code you wish to use instead.
