Unable to redeem Xbox 1-month gold code

Hi,

7 days ago I bought a 1-month Xbox live code off of Microsoft.com however whenever I attempt to redeem it, online or not, I get an error code. The screen that pops up on the Xbox One says:

Try that again

Something happened on our end. Waiting a bit might help.

XBOX-XboxSubscriptionInvalidSubscriptionStatus

Then the one I get on my computer in browser says:

Something went wrong
Give it another try. If this happens again, let us know by entering the code below at xbox.com/errorhelp so we can investigate.

It's been a week now and I'm starting to get very frustrated after just wanting to play with my friends and have missed several nights of gaming with them. If someone could help me resolve this it would be greatly appreciated.

Unable to redeem prepaid xbox gold code for a week.

I am unable to redeem my 3 months prepaid xbox gold code for a week.

throws me

on the website and

on the console.

Anyone else unable to redeem?

Error Redeeming 12M XBOX Gold

I have tried to redeem a 12 month XBOX GOLD Live membership through my XBOX 1 and online on xbox.com and both systems give me this error.

Hey xMc T4x,

If you take a look on that page: account.microsoft.com/services , is there a past due showing on one of your subs / payment options?

If so you need to clear that first to be able to redeem your Code. On how to do that, have a look into this page: How to Pay a Past Due Balance on an Xbox Subscription

no, it just says that the code is invalid. same goes to my 1 month xbox live gold redeem code. =(

Error Code: 8016A0FA – Appears when you try to redeem a gold membership card on your account and are unable to do so because you already have the maximum 3 years (36 months) of Xbox LIVE Gold time.

When you get the 2 year mark with your gold subscription time, you will then be able to redeem that code on this account.

[EX]

If you have gold before you convert it to.ultimate it's 1:1 up to 36 months

If you have ultimate and redeem a gold code it's only 1:3 !

UPDATE: - I just spoke to MS support over chat, they basically cancelled my gold ... then emailed a 1 month xbox live code to me. I thought they were giving me a free month as compensation but it seems theyve kept the money, cancelled the gold and then sent
me a 1 month code to redeem. So no compensation but that fixed it for me.
