Unable to Redeem Code.

Hello Microsoft,

I am trying to redeem a code, but i get the error:

Tried it a few times. Still get the same error.

How do I redeem a microsoft rewards code? I am unable to redeem the code. I have called support and they are unable to redeem the points. They advised me to put a post on how to redeem the points. Can you pls contact me to figure a way to redeem these
points.

Hi there,

Remeeming errors can be caused by issues on the account itself. Be sure to check if your billing information is correct at
http://billing.microsoft.com and also check
http://account.microsoft.com/services for any outstanding amount issues, these need to be sorted prior to being able to redeem codes.

After that try redeeming the code on both xbox console and via xbox.com/redeemcode

Also check that the Xbox Live account, the console and code all match region wise, using different regions for any of them can cause issues too.

If you can't find anything wrong and it is still not working, best thing to do is to contact official Xbox Support via Phone or Microsoft Support Chat at
Contact Us | Xbox Support they can do a more indepth look into this issue.

 

Thanks for the reply. Is it that I already have a my subscription running. My current subscription ends on July 31. And I was trying to add the live gold pack on top of that?

 

Hi,

depending on what kind of subscription it was (Like a Trial, Special Offer subscription etc) it could indeed be the case that it can not be added on top of the current subscription.

In that case waiting for the current one to end would result in you being able to add/activate the new subscription without problems.

Usually standard subscriptions can be added on top of eachother up to 36 months in the future, but in this situation it is best to wait until the current subscription ends and then trying to redeem again

 

Sorry for the huge delay. I absolutely forgot about redeeming my code. So from then and now, I cancelled my automatic renewal for my account so that I can redeem the code after 07/31. But still I got charged for a one month subscription on 07/23 (i think)
for 10 bucks. Not sure what that was for. And I tried redeeming my code yesterday twice and once today I get the error message saying "Something happened on our end. Waiting a bit might help."

 

Oh wait. I did it via the Microsoft website and it worked. I was just unable to do it via the console. But if someone can clarify about that extra charge on my account it would be very helpful!
