Unable to redeem 2 out of 4 codes from purchasing GOW: Ultimate Edition

Hi there,

I have been having issues with redeeming my codes for GOW and GOW 3. I have contacted Xbox Support twice regarding this issue. Please refer to ticket [Mod Removed].

I really hope that I can get the codes for these two games replaced somehow, because I have been facing this issue since I got the codes sent to me. Would appreciate your help.

Unable to redeem Fallout 3 and gears of war codes on xbox one

Hello,

For some time now i am trying to redeem the code i received from purchasing Fallout4 and GOW ultimate edition on my xbox one.

I am currently in cyprus and my account was set in greece.

Today i migrated my account from greece to cyprus but i am still unable to redeem the codes.

The error it produces now is Xbos1005

Please help me.

 

Just spent over an hour in help chat and still do not have the codes !

I have purchased GoW 4 Ultimate edition but still not received the redeem codes for GoW 1, 2, 3 or Judgement.

I have been in a chat with Microsoft help for over a hour and not managed to get any of the redeem codes sent to me.

Have many people received the codes ? Or is there a larger problem ?

 

The thing is the codes are universal and no they won't give you a new code

Depends what the issue is

Is it 8015017 or not available.in your region if so no new code will work regardless

Your account region must reflect your actual region if you live in Japan or china or an non xbox live region you cannot redeem the codes

You must change it under my account and change my region on this site then go to your xbox and change the locale too

Keep in mind there is a 3month wait to change it bsck

Us foreign bases don't count as the us you must use the host country

 

That is weird though. When I key in the code, it is recognised as active and redeemable. I was able to redeem the other two codes, I should be able to redeem all of them.

When I do redeem it, it just tells me an error has occurred, and to try again later. I have tried multiple times with the same result.

I will try the region settings. I am based in Malaysia, I assume I should try to change it to SG, which is a Xbox Live country.

 

So I changed both my account and console location, I am still getting the same error.

"Sorry, but an unexpected error has occurred. The error has been recoded and we will investigate. Please try to redeem your code later."

That is the error code showing on my screen at the moment. This is really disheartening knowing that I will not get 2 of the games I am supposed to.

 

Some of the Gears games are region locked, but not all of them. In order to download them your account region and your ohysical location have to match and you have to be in a region where the games are available. Since Malaysia is not a supported country,
thosr games are not available for download there. There is no way around region locking.

 

Meaning the console does a check on my ip address? I changed both console and account location to Singapore, although I reside in Malaysia. I will try redeeming on my laptop through a browser once I fly back to Singapore and see if that works.

 

Yes. The console will check your IP to make sure you can download the games. As long as you're account is set for Singapore, you should be able to download them when you go back. You will need to have your console there as well in order for them to download.

You need to be actually in Singapore

 

You can't just pretend to live in an xbox live region you need to be actually in an xbox live region

 

If you are not using the region. Migration tool under my account but only changing your location on this website that's doesn't work

That only changes the language

Also a vpn doesn't work
