Unable to Receive Password Reset Emails for Xbox Account

Reset or recover your lost Microsoft account password

If you know the email address that you used to set up your Microsoft account, you can skip this tutorial and reset your password now:

1. Go to Reset your password and enter your email address.
2. Tell us where you’d like us to send a security code (email or phone number).
3. Once you receive your security code, you’ll be prompted to choose a new password and enter it twice. Passwords should be at least 8 characters long and should contain a mix of upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.

Note You must have your Microsoft account email address to reset your password. If you’ve forgotten this email address, use the Lost
Account Solution to recover it before you reset your password.

You can also reset your password on the Xbox Oneor Xbox 360 console (see below).
If you’re unable to access any of the contact methods associated with your account (and thus unable to receive the security code required to reset your password), see Recover

Reset your password on the Xbox One console

you can visit http://account.live.com and under the sign in button, click can't access your account and it will walk you through a password reset for your account. once you reset that password, turn
your xbox on and use that new password to sign in. if that doesn't work for you, or you are unable to access that email address when doing the reset, there is an option that says i'm unable to use any of these options, it will have you fill in some information
and if it pleases the system, it will get you a password reset to an alternate email address that you provide when filling out that form. if you are still confused or lost at that point, definately contact xbox support at 1-800-4MY-XBOX, but remember, they
cannot provide a password reset over the phone, only assist you with various options to reset your password or get back into your account.

Hey Reekie, so it sounds like you're unable to reset the password to a particular email account, correct? But when you try and reset that password, the reset information goes to another email account that you no longer have access to? Is that secondary email
account associated with a Gamertag at all? If it is, and if that GT is on a console, you should be able to view the Live ID there, and then possibly reset the password. If not, and if there's no way to obtain that account information, I'm afraid that you may
need to create a new account.

I'm sorry that the above steps did not work to resolve the issue. If you can't sign in to your Xbox account, you can try resetting your Microsoft account password, since Xbox uses a Microsoft account to sign in.

Follow these steps to reset your Microsoft account password:

Go to the Microsoft sign-in page

https://account.microsoft.com

in a web browser.

Click "Sign In" in the upper right corner of the page.

On the login page, click "Can't access your account?" below the password field.

You'll be asked to enter the email address associated with your Microsoft account. Enter the email address you use to create your Xbox account.

Next, choose the option to receive a security code. You can choose to receive it by email or text message to your phone number associated with your account.

Follow the instructions to receive the security code and reset your password.

Once you've reset your Microsoft account password, try signing in to Xbox.com with your new password.

i created the xbox live account before they were connected to microsoft accounts so I'm unable to login since I forgot the password and I can't reset the password without access to the email.

I do have a microsoft account but its not connected to the xbox account
