Unable to re-select Home Xbox after hack

Hi There,

Yesterday I contacted telephone support due to an unauthorised access to my Microsoft account. The user who accessed my account appears to have set their Xbox as my home Xbox giving them access to all of my digital content. I contacted telephone support
and they advised me that they were able to remove that Xbox from my devices however the issue I have is that I have 2 Xbox ones in my home and I am unable to reselect one of those as my home Xbox due to the 3 times a year limitation.

Previously my sons had changed the home Xbox setting between the 2 Xbox's in our home (without realising there was a limitation) and they had also switched it back (making 2 changes). Then yesterday an unauthorised 3rd party who lives half way down the country
(according to their IP address) made an unauthorised switch which can only have been achieved via hacking my account making the 3rd switch.

So my issue is, that although the unauthorised console has been removed from my linked devices, I am unable to reinstate my home Xbox to allow access to paid digital content and Xbox live.

Is there any way in which this can be reset please?

The reference to the support case is [Mod Removed]. I did reply to that email to advise I still had an issue as I had explained what I needed to happen on the call but as yet I have had no response.

Avatar keeps resetting

Actually after I select a new avatar it states xbox live connection is lost. I am unable to login.

You may also try deleting system updates and redownloading them.

Note These steps delete system updates that are installed on your Xbox console.

1.If necessary, follow the steps in the Move and then re-download your Xbox LIVE profile section

2.Press the Guide button and then select Xbox Home.

3.Select settings and then System.

4.Select Storage.

5.Highlight your storage device (but do not press A to select it).

6.Press the following buttons:

a.Left bumper

b.Right bumper

c.X button

d.Left bumper

e.Right bumper

f.X button

7.On the Delete System Update screen, select Yes.

8.After your Xbox console restarts, select OK to download and install the system update.

9.After the system update has installed, re-download your Xbox LIVE profile and try to sign in to Xbox LIVE.

 

Sorry to hear it. What you should do is give phone support a call and explain the situation to them again. They may be able to reset the Home option for the gamertags.

 

Thanks, Onyx I'm hoping to not need to call again, was on for half an hour yesterday and they said to reply to the email with any further issues. I'll give them a bit longer to respond to the email then if they don't I'll have to call them back.

 

Ok, just be aware that it could take up to 48 hours for them to reply back. Good luck and I hope it gets resolved quickly.
