Unable to purchase Warcraft Legion Warglaives avatar item

Hello there,

been trying to claim the free avatar item for World of Warcraft Legion through the Xbox website the last couple days but keep receiving an error (linked below). Some troubleshooting I've tried:

tried multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE)

had friends try to purchase (same error for them)

tried getting it via console (Avatar app continues to load forever when trying to purchase it

contacted customer support (ended up recommending here)

Anyone know how to get this item?

Unable to purchase avatar items?

Anyone else unable to purchase avatar items? I keep getting the "Sorry, we are unable to complete your purchase. Please try again." My payment info is correct. Thoughts? Thanks.

Unable to purchase avatar items?

Hey all!

When you attempt to purchase Avatar items do you get an error code along with the message you're getting? One thing to make sure of is that the region of your account matches your physical locale, as cross-region accounts can cause purchasing issues.

I'm having this problem - yes, I'm in the UK.

I'm writing this because if it's a US only product:

1) Don't let us click the 'Purchase' button - explain that it's a US only item rather than giving a rubbish error page.

2) Why the HECK is this a US only item? This just makes Xbox look bad. I know there are licensing issues but Microsoft shouldn't be agreeing to these kinds of deals.

I would also like to know, why is this a US only item? I've spent like 10 minutes trying to purchase the item (plus Mercy Wings). Would be nice to know who's fault is it, Blizzard's or Microsoft's. Simply unbelievable.

Additionally, anyone is able to see the content for the US when the locale on the site is showing as in the US. You can tell this by looking at the URL. If, shortly after the .com portion, it says "/en-US/", then you are looking at the US site. You can change
the US to GB (for the UK) and then see that the content is not available. I've got example links below.

All I can say is the same thing happened to me. I chatted with a few employees (great help) but I couldn't get it to work or even show up.
