Unable to purchase or download content

I purchased an Xbox One recently and cannot purchase content or download free apps. When clicking on the "purchase" or "get if free" buttons the screen changes to gray with a spinning white circle. The screen stays this way indefinitely unless I go back
to the home screen. I don't receive any error messages, just the gray screen and spinning circle.

I tried purchasing a game online and ran into the same problem. A screen would pop up with a spinning circle but nothing would happen. So I figured the problem was with my account and not my console.

After reading this thread http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/xbox_one_support/f/4271/t/1622839.aspx and going through the various steps I was able to purchase a game via the xbox live website after updating my location information.

Unfortunately I still cannot purchase games or download free apps through my Xbox One which is frustrating because, though I can purchase games via the website, I cannot download or install free apps through the website.

Here is the information the aforementioned forum suggested I provide:

Account region: NM, USA

Physical region: NM, USA

Internet Service Provider (ISP): Comcast

Content you are trying to download: Child of Light, Netflix app, Hulu, YouTube, etc

Try holding the power button for 10 seconds until the console shuts down then unplug everything for about 5 minutes. See if it works for you when you hook everything back up again.

HI MrO StoleMyName!

I'm sorry your having this issue, seems that updating your billing information was able to allow you to complete the purchase for that free content on the website but your console is still having an issue. Make sure you double check your Privacy & Online
Safety settings to make sure the "Buy and Download" section is set to anything or only free content. Also, make sure your security information is up to date by providing 2 alternate pieces of information you can access. Example: 2 phone numbers, 2 emails (different
from the email you use to sign in), 1 phone number and 1 email.

If you select to remove any of this security information from your account due to no longer having access to them, it will take 30 days. Within this 30 days you won't able to make any purchases (its possible that you've already started this and it could
be causing the issue, but since you were able to complete the purchase online it doesn't seem likely)

Also try resetting your password for laughs and giggles, if all this fails there could be a software problem with the console (corrupted system cache). If the reset Onyx62is kindly suggested doesn't work after you've verified your account information, you
may need to perform a factory reset on the console (you won't lose any of your game saves, but you'll need to reinstall all your games and apps) as it will re download the system updates.

Also, just in case you haven't yet, may I suggest clearing the system cache (it's just updates plus other temporary files, nothing that's at all important to anyone) by:

1) Tap the silver Xbox Guide button on the controller, go right 2 clicks to Settings, pick System Settings.

2) Select Storage (or Memory).

3) Move over any hard drive or memory unit (not the Cloud) & press (Y) on your controller & pick Clear System Cache.

4) When asked to confirm storage device maintenance, choose Yes.

Delete profile from your console

1) go to www.xbox.com/accounts & click on
Sign in at upper right - if you can't sign in then STOP: DON'T delete your profile. Please call Xbox Support
support.xbox.com/contact-us for help with your account. If you can sign in, delete & redownload your profile on your Xbox this way:

2) Go to Settings

3) pick System

4) choose Storage

5) pick All Devices

6) choose Gamer Profiles

7) pick the gamertag

8) choose Delete, and

9) pick Delete Profile Only. This deletes the profile but leaves saved games and achievements. Now, re-download your profile.

Re-download

1) Tap the silver Xbox Guide button

2) Select Download Profile (and if you don't see it, press the blue X button to make sure you're not signed in) and proceed with Profile Download.

3) Enter the Microsoft Account / Windows Live ID for your Xbox LIVE gamertag when asked.

4) Enter the password for the WLID.

4A) If your account is an Xbox LIVE child account, the parent’s Windows Live ID & password is required as well to download your profile.

5) Pick the storage device for your profile (choose Hard Drive if you have one, or Memory Unit if you don't have a Hard Drive).

6) When the download completes you will be asked if you want the console to remember your password. If it's your home console, I'd say yes, otherwise I'd think carefully about leaving my profile unprotected on somebody else's
Xbox!

7) Sign in, and retry.

Thanks for the reply, yes I am using wired connection. Im doing everything right. Also, I believe my regions match as with region as united kingdom and state as england according to a drop down selection for state. Let me point you to a forum from the US.
They clearly found a solution from a fault within their own technical area. The problem is that I have had the same problem as most of the people on that forum. Please check it. I believe it was Mister Gwyther as the support:

vibroplex, Ive already tried what you say. Im very certain its an error within their own network. Like I have said before, this problem was actually solved from a fault on microsofts own servers. Again, check this link:
