    Unable to purchase online content with child's account


    I have just tried to purchase lego marvel for my step-son. Input paypal details etc and changed my privacy setting to allow the purchase of premium content. However when I tried to complete the purchase I received error message 80153021 (xbox live billing
    account has been locked)

    Please help

    Avatar Companion blocked for child account - Parent can't purchase for a kid? Seriously?

    So, my daughter wants to purchase an avatar item, Baby Groot Companion, for her avatar from the marketplace store. The item is FREE. She's blocked from doing so by MS due to being a child/teen account. Even though I am her parent, and even though I changed the family settings to allow her to purchase content and even though I have billing setup with MS, she still CANNOT purchase the item. I can't purchase it for her. Seriously?!!

    Who in their infinite wisdom decided that FREE content allowed by a parent, can still NOT be purchased by a child? Come to think of it, if this is the case, why is there no way for a parent to purchase content and gift it to a child account?

    Microsoft Store (Xbox 360 store)

    I use an Xbox One. When I try to make any purchase (including free content) in the Xbox 360 Store I get a message "Your account
    is unable to make this type of purchase on Xbox.com. Please complete this transaction from your Xbox." But
    I can make purchases in Xbox One Store and I'm 18 so I don't have child's account. What should I do?

    Are you using a child account? If so you will be unable to purchase content from the 360 marketplace unless you are on a 360 console.

    Hiya WakelessAltair,

    Child accounts are blocked from purchasing content over Xbox LIVE by default. These settings can be changed by the adult account that controls the child account. This should allow you to purchase and download the content that you want.

    Convert Child Account to Adult Account

    Hello,

    It's not possible to convert a child account to an adult account before the age of 18. The settings you're changing are privacy and online settings. Titles that are marked as Not Rated or M (mature) cannot be purchased by the child. You can purchase them on
    an adult account on the same Xbox 360 console and the child will have access to that content as well on that same console.

    put the child account in a family. Once the child account has been added to the family, you can go to the

    online privacy & online safety settings     with the parent account and allow the child to complete a purchase. After the purchase is completed, you can log back in to the online privacy & online safety settings with the parent account and restrict any purchases
