    Hello there, I'm hoping you can help me with this one.

    I'm currently saving up to purchase the Xbox One at the middle of next month. Not wanting to miss out on getting the first games available through the Games with Gold program (Halo: Spartan **** and Max: The Curse of Brotherhood) I thought I would try to
    purchase them via the Xbox website today along with my Games with Gold purchase for my 360 (Dark Souls) so that they were ready to download once I'd gotten the console and set it up.

    When I logged into the site I got a message from Microsoft asking for further security authentication for my Hotmail account, I suspect as a result of the Heartbleed issue a couple of months ago. I reviewed the options it gave me to get a security code but
    ran into a small problem; the listed telephone number was out of date (old work number), and the only email address I had listed as an alternate was another Microsoft account which required the same security authentication (and had the same out of date information).

    Realising that I had no way to finish authentication I saw an option to begin the update of my security info and selected it. The prompt let me know that I could use my account as normal but it would take 30 days before I could change anything and that while
    I used my Hotmail account it would occasionally double-check that I had asked for the update to be done.

    Once I had clicked through and authenticated my Hotmail account I returned to the Xbox store to make my purchases. However, while I am able to navigate the Xbox site and click on the two games in question every time I click the 'Buy Now' button I get a Microsoft
    pop-up asking me to confirm that I had started the account update procedure. When I confirm this it lets me know the date of the end of 30-day waiting period (12/07/2014) and there is no option available to complete my purchase or continue to another page.
    The only other options are to attempt the code confirmation through the means I listed above.

    This procedure also happened when I attempted to purchase Dark Souls for my 360. After attempting this a few times and trying all of the options available I launched my 360 to see if I could at least get one game. When I accessed the game page via Xbox Live
    I was able to purchase Dark Souls without issue (no pop-ups, no security dialogues) and it is currently downloading.

    This leads me to believe that the problem I've encountered is localised to any purchase attempts made via the Xbox website and not a problem with purchasing in general.

    Can anyone recommend any solutions to this or have I completely mucked up my chances at obtaining the Xbox One games for this month?

    Unable to purchase free games for gold for Xbox one on my sons account through the website I'm getting the below message.

    I have been on with Microsoft support and they have advised me to post on here as they couldn't find an issue.

    Refund for FREE Gold game download to Xbox 360 Console Please.

    keep in mind that two things first only accounts with actual gold not home gold can make purchases from the website for games with gold

    Home gold only applies to xbox one

    So if you are a sub account you can't make the purchase

    I suspect it worked on the 360 because you were essentially already logged in there, or had your details on it, so that it was OK to make a purchase from there, whereas the website would require you to wait 30 days in order to update that security information.

    I'm not certain that there is anything that can be done but wait, unfortunately, but if there is something, Phone Support would know and be able to help, so speaking with them may be worth a shot:
