Unable to purchase games using Microsoft account

I redeemed a bunch of gift cards through the website last night, so my son could purchase games using ms acct today. Xbox 360 and the website won't allow me to use the ms account to make the purchase. On the xbox, I go to change payment method, choose
microsoft account, but it tries to put it on the cc I have blocked anyway. On the website it won't even give me the option to choose anything other than the cc (which I had blocked for purchases.) How do I use this ms account to purchase?

Has anyone else got $6.00 free from microsoft on 360?

I was going to purchase a few games from xbox live on my 360 and I went to add a credit card and saw that for some reason that microsoft put $6.00 into my microsoft account and thought that was just from the rewards program. But I happen to check another account on my xbox 360 that i didn't even use the rewards program with and have just purchase one game with that account and it also has $6.00 in that account also is Microsoft given out $6.00 to us or what is the deal?

Both on the console and the website I am unable to purchase using the account money.

 

You have to buy from the console you can only buy from the website using credit debit card or PayPal sorry.

 

Thanks Davemcfly85, , but the console won't let me choose the $ I have in the microsoft account, even when I select change payment option it goes back to the cc account and then gives me an error message because I've had the cc blocked for purchases. Any
other ideas or suggestions?

 

can you see the currency was correctly redeemed to your gt?

in your payment Options window there should be "your Microsoft currency xxxx$"

 

i am having the same problem. The amount in my account is correct, but it is not in bold letters to choose as a payment option.
