Unable to purchase games from local region for xbox one

Hi All

I am unable to buy any games from xbox one store (it redirects to US webpage games list). However i can purchase the same for 360 in local region (India). Because of this i lost the special sale and now i am not able to buy any other game offered on deals
with gold.

When i try purchasing 360 game it shows in local currency and i am able to complete transaction easily. But when i try to purchase xbox one game it asks me to add credit card. When i try for the games with gold for xbox one i am able to purchase the free stuff
again. All this on laptop only

I want to go digital. This is happening when i access through laptop only. And for some weird reason i see that i have IN - personal account and US - personal account under billing. I have not migrated my account till date to US region and back to IN.

Would there be a solution to this problem? Did anybody else experience this issue and able to solve it?

Xbox one Games Region Locked

Hey there, physical copies are region free, but digital purchases are a little bit different as you will still be able to play purchased games, but not re-download them from different regions.

Xbox Live Points on Xbox One

Yes, credit which you used on the 360 can also be used on the Xbox One. Note that Microsoft Points have been transitioned into local currency. Sometime within the near future you should see your points convert into local currency for your region (in most
cases, US dollars). The local currency can be used to make purchases from the Xbox One.

That would be why

India wasnt an xbox ome supported country before sept 2014 you wouldve had to pick another bxox one supported country

Hello, I will be moving from Japan to the U.S. If I purchase an Xbox one or a One X from Japan, will I be able to use it in the U.S and play U.S games? Or are the Xbox One and One X region Locked?

No, the console from a disc perspective is not region locked. And baring a plug with a ground (which I do not think the US plug has) the power adapter should also work in Japan as the power requirements are the same. The only think you will need to make
sure to do is change your purchase region to Japan from the US to purchase content locally there for digital games.

If you simply want to use the GBP on your account you need to purchase from the UK market. You shouldn't have an issue purchasing Xbox one games from a different region than the one you're in. If you're on the website select UK region at the bottom so it
shows you the UK marketplace. On the console change your location in the system settings. This should be possible. Go here to understand it better.

Unfortunately if the game is not offered in your local region/country, you won't be able to purchase it in your region/country. Purchases have to be made from the same region as where the account and billing information is located.
