Unable to purchase game in US Marketplace

Hi

I am European myself, but having heard there are quite more games to buy on the American store I decided to create a U.S. account. I bought myself a 50 dollar Microsoft Points card online and saw a game I liked (Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga). However,
as I redeemed my code and was about to make the purchase, an error popped up saying (paraphrased): "This game's region is not supported by the console you're playing on". I then changed my locale to United States and tried again, still nothing. 'Migrating'
my account to the U.S. also didn't work. Do I need to be physically located in the US in order to buy certain games? Is there some workaround?

Hey, wolfster259! If you are getting this message, it's because your account is registered in the system as a Child Account. The only way around purchasing Games with Gold for Child Accounts is by making the purchase on an Xbox 360. Changing the settings
to make "unrestricted purchases" does not work for the 360 Marketplace, so you will be unable to make these purchases on the Xbox One or the Marketplace website. For more information, please check out our

Some content is region locked. So your account region and your physical location have to match in order to download the content. There is no way around region locking.

 

That error is due to your physical location not matching your account location and your console not being a us or ntsc and no you cannot change the last one
