Unable to purchase backwards compatibility titles from the Xbox One Store

I am unable to purchase Xbox 360 games from the store for use on my Xbox One Elite. When I click continue in the payment screen it states that I don't have a valid payment option despite having made purchases in the past for regular Xbox One games. When
I click Change Payment Option It tries to get me to put in Billing Information for the United Kingdom, as I am from the Republic of Ireland my address and most importantly my post code won't work. I should also mention that the same thing happens on my Xbox
360 when I try to make a purchase on that but it also tells me that the post code I entered doesn't match my state, county or locale; in Ireland postcodes are optional and were only introduced about two years ago.

I would appreciate any help possible in resolving this issue.

    :)

How can I buy Dark Souls?

Correct, Dark Souls is part of the xbox 360 backward compatibility list. If you purchase the game from the 360 xbox marketplace link, you will find the title in the games and apps section of xbox one "ready to install"

    For more info:

    Games are "Bundle Only"

    Hello ivanitskyy,

Unfortunately, you cannot game from the backwards compatibility list from the Xbox One store. You can only purchase them from an 360 or the website.

The games with gold of the first xbox and xbox 360 are mine forever independent of the gold subscription.?

Original Xbox titles are much like Xbox One games and purchased through that store under backwards compatibility so the same rules as Xbox One titles apply and you will need to have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription to play those.

The Xbox 360 titles are different because of how that store was engineered and handled licensing, and the limitations of that store are why the "purchases" are permanent. Since the OG Xbox titles are purchased via the Xbox One digital storefront, they do
not have the same stipulations as the 360 titles.

Please note that I have not verified this myself, but a friend of mine tested this and was unable to play the backwards Xbox titles without an active Gold subscription, so if there is conflicting information, please feel free to correct me.

I can’t buy a backwards compatible game from my Xbox

    Hi Yeeterson,

Thanks for contacting us on the forums. We understand trying to purchase a backward compatible game. Unfortunately, on the Xbox one you will need a credit/debit card or paypal. Account currency is unable to be used to make a purchase for backward compatible
titles, unless you are on an Xbox 360.

    Hope this helps.

    Brad
