Unable to preload AOE4 and FH5

Hi,

I am trying to preload AOE4 and FH5 from the xbox app on my PC as part of Gamepass Ultimate. I am getting the following error 0x87e00017. I am on windows 11 and latest Xbox app is installed.

I tried searching for the error code, but no helpful article popped up. Any idea how to resolve this?

See if you can download games to another hard drive on your PC. Can you also install other games?

Well my problem solved itself it seems. I am able to install AOE4 and FH5 now. Thanks

Check for updates on Windows Update, update everything including optional/additional updates, and also follow the steps below.

1. Logout from Xbox app and Microsoft Store app

2. Look for the Xbox app and Microsoft Store in the Windows menu, right-click, click app settings and then click terminate, restore and reset.

3. Clear the store cache type ''wsreset'' in the Windows bar, run as admin, and wait for the screen to close and open the store automatically.

4. Open the Microsoft Store, click on ''library'' in the lower-left corner then ''get updates'' and update everything.

5. Login with your account again in both apps and try again.

Go to the windows settings

Applications

Applications and Features

Look for Gaming Services

Click on it

Advanced options

Click repair

- If this solution does not solve the problem, try the alternative below.

Go to This PC, enter the disc where you want to install the games.

Rename the "WindowsApps" folder in "WindowsApps.old" then restart the pc.

If the error occurs again then rename the "WpSystem" folder in "WpSystem.old" and restart again.
