Unable to play with friends online

When playing online multiplayer games while in a party with someone, my Xbox loses it's internet connection shortly after entering a game. I can play any game just fine by myself in single or multiplayer. I am also able to play games without any problems
while in a party with someone. It is only when i join a game with the person in my party that the problem occurs. The problem doesn't happen until I have entered an actual match with the person, finding a game and navigating the menu works fine. I am given
no error message and the only way to get the internet connection back is to restart the Xbox.

On top of clearing the system cashe, which can fix most issues there is another step.

Test your xbox live connection, this forces you to sign out, and the test refreshes information from the xbox live servers.

Upon logging back in your profile will update all information on it, so your new subscription should be active.

Added note, when you have a Trial code active on the account, and you add a 1-3-12 month subscription to the account it doesn't stack with the trial code and actually eats it up. Nom nom nom.

the 14 day trial be be different then a full gold membership, you should be able to see which is active at
http://billing.microsoft.com

If the gold subscription is active, it sometimes can take some time before the update reaches the console, to speed this up clear the consoles cache:

support.xbox.com/.../clear-system-cache

I'm sorry to hear about the issue. I have some questions for you before we can troubleshoot. Is this happening on an Xbox One console or an Xbox 360 console? If it's on an Xbox One, are the games this happens with Xbox One games or Xbox 360 backwards compatible
games? Is your console connected to your home network via Ethernet cable or are you using a wireless network? What is your NAT and what is your friend's NAT?

Having more information will help us out a whole bunch.

I am playing on an Xbox One. All of the games I have tried are all Xbox One titles (Rocket League, Overwatch, and 7 Days to Die). My console is connected to the internet wirelessly. My NAT is set to Open as are all of my friends settings as well.

 

Thanks for that extra info. Try connecting your console to your network using a wired connection to see if that helps. Can you also provide us with a screenshot of your Detailed Networking Statistics so we can take a look at that info too?

I am unable to connect my Xbox to the internet with a wired connection. The router is located in another part of the house and needs to stay where it is.

 

Are you able to move your console closer to your router temporarily for the purposes of testing? If you're continually getting kicked offline when you try to play with others, we need to eliminate certain variables and trying a wired connection is going
to be one of the steps we need to cover.

Let us know once you've done that if you still get kicked.
