unable to play online gears of war 3

when i try to play online i get the error message saying

your current gamer profile settings do not allow playing online games. to continue, all players must have settings that allow online play.

please help

Just lovely. Another reason Telus is *** crap. I'm also on Telus, Actiontec V1000H and am completely unable to play Gears Of War 3 online with other players, as well as Halo Reach (but I suspect that is a 343i problem).

its not the parental controls as they are off and i can still have access to all my other games for online gaming its just this game.

my account was the only one signed in, been trying to get in touch with epic and that seems impossible this account has not been boosted hacked or even had a controller with rubber band used. i logged on yesterday which i have already shown to xbox support
just before i went out, on returning i tried to go back online and thats when all the problems started.

 

If yours was the only one signed in and the servers were functional at the time then you most likely incurred an in-game ban. Epic would be the only ones who can help you if that's the case.

 

if i have been banned by epic how do i get in touch with them, as i keep going in circles here

 

Actually it seems that Microsoft providers the servers and bans (they are the publisher after all) on Gears of War. Bans of this type are permanent but profile specific. Your only option would be to create a new gamertag and subscribe that to Gold. You
would also need to re-purchase any DLC (map packs) as playing on ones purchased from a banned profile will result in the new profile being banned too.

thank you for that but that is what i have done and have been playing very happy for the last six months until yesterday when all this happened, and yet there is still no answer as to why? this is a new gold account new re purchased dlc maps packs season
pass, as i said playing with no issue so why now

 

You realize it would've made sense to tell us you were already banned once before. You must have used something purchased on the old account that was originally banned. Good day.
