Unable to play games or use apps: Error code 0x87de0017

I am also having the issue. Ever since I got this xbox one I have had issues about every week or so. If this persists I might just go back to PS4.

Installed Halo Reach from disc onto my Xbox One. It downloaded the game data from Live fine, but it didn't have any cover art, or a name. Also, it installed it into my "apps" section instead of my "games" section. So basically, I got a 7.2 GB blank box in
the wrong category.

Wasn't having ANY issues until I went on the store on the dashboard to buy a game and that's when all this unexplained nonsense began. I'm seeing messages here from yesterday that a support person said it'd be resolved within 24 hours. Is that confirmed
or has it been pushed back?

I'm fully aware Xbox live is down yet again so trying to play GTA story mode is impossible as it throws me back to the dashboard saying 'try again in a while...'

Yes I bought GTA V via the online store but no I should be able to play it if signed into the console without being told every 20'secs to authenticate the game... Surely if the console and XBL account are signed in (yes it's signed in, it just can't access
whatever services are currently down) then it should at least let you play what you've purchased. Other digital download stores give you at least 24 hours grace to play games to take into account servers do go down from time to time.

 

If your games are digital you need to have your console set as your home machine. Go to Settings and go 'offline'. Now you should be able to play your games in single-player until the outage is resolved.

 

I am not doing anything that should require online activity. I am simply watching a dvd, or trying to anyway.

I am not even signed into my profile. I did stop this problem by completely removing my console's internet connection, but my point is that i shouldn't have to do that. Fair enough give me a msg to inform me of connection issues but don't send me the exact
same msg every 20s and return me to the dashboard to do it, lol.

Just like yesterday. None of my games worked, it would load to the art screen and then kick me out saying I can't connect to Xbox. It did the same thing yesterday. What gives? Is xbox seriously being hacked again? The same hacker group pulled this stuff
last year. You'd think Microsoft would have developed some advanced firewalls for their xbox live systems. Guess not then.

same here, cant download items... or user apps either.

 

it's a new "feature(bug)" of the new xbox OS. it seems as though when xbox live core services start having problems the system doesn't like to launch games. if you have previously played that game before you can go into offline mode and then launch it. you
won't be able to play online, but it's better than nothing.

 

Yup... IE seems to work fine, tho... but yeah, no Battlefront or any of the other dozen or so games will work online.

Unable to play any of the games I've downloaded. Message pops up say "We're having trouble connecting to Xbox.".

 

Fallout 4 launched just fine...without needing to go into Offline mode. Yet GTA V when just going into story mode...the message keeps poppin up. Fallout 4 is on disc and GTA V is downloaded.

 

Been like this every week my friend and is getting beyond a joke now!
