Unable to play certain games online

Hi Dicipulus, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

You're correct that it can be a game-specific issue but since this is happening with multiple games we need to ensure that we will be able to fix any issue with the console.

Kindly ask your friend to reset the console keeping the games and apps. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Reset and keep my games & apps.

This is due to a age restriction on the profile called 'Family Settings'. You have been restricted to play games of a certain age category, therefore you are unable to play online.

Did they do it online? They need to sign in online and allow certain games to be played.

One month I forgot to renew my membership and when I went online to play destiny, I was unable to do certain maps because you needed matchmaking and you can only do that with xbox live gold. My gold games were still available to play though. Hope this

If I may ask, are you on Xbox or PC? Are you trying to launch a game when the error appears or you're on the process of installing a game?

Also, I would appreciate it if you can provide me with the exact message that you're getting so I can check that for you.
