Unable to pay for a Games With Gold game after my Gold expired

I downloaded Guacamelee for free when I had a Gold subscription. Then, my subscription ran out and now I want to buy it. But, I can't. I tried on both the Marketplace on Xbox One and online. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Nothing works.
I can't play or buy the game. I can only download it and be locked out of playing it.

A message even comes up when I try to launch the game "try buying the game in the Xbox Store" but I am unable to.

Games with gold not working

I had recently tried to play worms battle grounds but it kept saying I had to repurchase it. I had gotten it free with games with gold and could play it fine until it expired. After it expired I renewed my membership a month later after finals. The problem
is now when I try to access the game it tells me I have to buy it. Is there a fix to this? I hope that because I loose my gold access once I don't loose all of my games because I can't always afford to keep my gold membership.

My gold subscription has already expired. But it still tells me I'm a Gold subscriber despite being unable to play Destiny & Titanfall.

Any ideas?

 

Have you tried deleting the game from your hard drive before attempting to purchase it? Perhaps the issue lies with the fact that the full game is still on the drive so the system believes that you own it.

 

Yes, I've tried everything. I chatted with support twice as well and they literally just told me to buy a Gold subscription.

This is obviously a major oversight on Microsoft's behalf and it needs to be fixed.

 

Alright, perhaps the existence of a save game may be causing the issue. Follow the steps at the link below to see if removing it will help (just remove local, it is also saved online at the Cloud and can be retrieved later). If you cannot access the save
game and the original game has been deleted you may have to reinstall first.

Thanks for the suggestion but that didn't work either. I'm almost 100% sure that this is a bug that Microsoft needs to fix.

 

Hm, odd. So you "own" it thanks to downloading it through GwG, but in order to play it you need to have an active Gold sub. Like you say in the video, so far it makes sense. I'm not entirely sure why you would not be allowed to buy it, but I'm guessing it
is because you already "own" the content so it is getting confused or something.

If you haven't done so already, try doing a complete power cycle of your console () and see if it will allow you to purchase the game after. It's a bit of a long shot but worth a try.

Not sure about other suggestions as, like you say, it could be a bug that needs fixing and this is the first time I have ever seen this happening.

I can download the game this morning after the Xbox One update so I guess they fixed it?
