    So I have had this issue for about a year now. Occasionally, my Xbox One will not allow me to open any games or apps with the controller. I can scroll around, highlight an item, and when I push "A", the box lights up like it was selected, but does not
    open. I try having my controller go through USB, just wireless, etc. but it just will not select. However, I do have my Kinect attacked to my Xbox One, and if I voice command a game or app to open, it will open just fine. It just baffles me because the
    box lights up like I selected the action to open the program, but nothing happens.

    I will then usually try to clear system cache by holding the power button on the Xbox One for 10 seconds until it powers off, but normally when I power back on, it still gives me the same issue. At this point, I usually have to unplug the power cable from
    the back of my Xbox and from the wall, wait a couple minutes for it to power down, and then plug everything back in so it can have a cold reset. Most of the time this works.

    I've thought through various reasons why this happens. I have a Day One console, and I am on the Xbox Preview program. So normally I thought it was an issue with the preview dashboard, and brushed it off, but it's been going on for months, even after official
    dashboards are released. Normally I would just shrug it off, but this issue pops up every couple weeks, and after a year it's gotten a bit frustrating.

    Has there been research into a more permanent solution for this problem?

    to play my Xbox One, I was unable to open any games. Then while testing the issue i realized I could not open any apps settings or even help. Im at a complete loss. Ive attempted a cold reset but ive tried at least ten times with the same outcome. Does anyone
    have an idea what happened to it? Is it just done for then?

    Sounds like a cold boot may help you fix this problem. Turn on your Xbox 1, hold in power button for 8-10 seconds to power off. Wait 30 seconds, Power on and try again. This clears out everything and starts the OS fresh. Please let us know if you continue
    to have problems after a clean boot!

    Hey mate,

    Have you been reporting this problem through the preview program when it happens? By reporting the problem through the preview program app on your console, it sends data to the team that can be used to fix the problem. Next time it happens, hold down the
    power button on the controller (as if you were going to turn off the console) and you should see an option "Report Problem", hit that and fill in the relevant details and send it through. Whilst it won't fix your problem, it will assist the team in being able
    to fix it.

    Regarding the actual issue, have your tried using another controller? It could be your controller that is bugging out, and not the console? Just a suggestion, as I've not heard of this issue before

    I have the same problem - but with all three Microsoft games - that is Microsoft MineSweeper, Microsoft Solitare Collection and Microsoft Mahjong. The error is similar for all three Apps.

    I do not have problems with other Apps - the issue seems specific to these Microsoft Games.

    Sorry to hear it. As this is the beta app there are still issues to be fixed. If you are unable to download the game from the app then cancel it and open the Store App from the start menu and find the game there to install
