    Unable to make selections Xbox Series S


    Device boots up like normal. From the Home Screen I select any game, but it does not open. I am able to navigate to different options in the Home Screen, but when I select it nothing happens. I even tried selecting Xbox Support and nothing happens. I tried to reboot several times without success.

    Yesterday I found the following recommendation. It worked, but today I am having the same problem.

    • Press start button for 10;seconds
    • Unplug the power cable and wait 5 minutes
    • Plug power and turn on
    I found another recommendation today to delete profile. But unable to test it because I can’t select an option.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Edwin813, my name is Joel, I'm here to help you with any problems or questions you may have.

    Edwin813, in view of the fact that as indicated you cannot select anything on the screen, so you cannot enter the configuration menu, you should try a factory reset from the troubleshooting screen, before doing so you must make sure that you know exactly your login details such as email and password

    Turn off the console and then unplug the power cord to make sure the console is completely turned off.

    - Wait 1 minute.

    - Reconnect the power cord.

    - Press and hold the BIND button (used to sync controllers on the console) and then press the Xbox button on the console.

    - Continue pressing the BIND button for 10-15 seconds.

    - I should listen to two ignition tones a couple of seconds apart.

    Note: If you do not hear two ignition tones after 15 seconds, it means that this failed. Similarly, if you hear a screeching of "off", that also means that this failed.

    - You must release the BIND button after the second power tone.

    - The console should start and show the problem resolution screen.

    Select to reset this console while keeping games and apps

    Clear Cache

    Turn off your Xbox Series X|S using the controller or the Power Off button on the console.

    Unplug the power cable from the back of your Xbox Series X|S.

    Wait at least two minutes.

    Plug the cable back into your Xbox Series X|S.

    Turn your Xbox Series X|S back on.

    After completing these steps please reboot your Xbox.

    After this, please remove the profile and add it again. Here are the steps:

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    Select System > Settings > Account > Remove accounts.

    Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm.

    When you're finished, select Close.

    Then, proceed to add it again.

    Next, please make sure your Xbox is set as a home console. To do it please follow the next instructions:

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    Select System > Settings > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.

    Select Make this my home Xbox to designate the console as your home Xbox.

    Let's give a shot in-game again.

    Then, let's check there's no pending update of the console by following the next instructions:

    Make sure that your console is connected to the internet, and then press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    Select Profile & system> Settings > System > Updates.

    Under Updates, you can see:

    Console update available. Select this to begin your update, or

    No console update available. This means your console is up to date.

    If there's a pending update please allow it to be completed.

    Finally, please open the game and check if it works.

    Your Xbox Series X/S controller should still work normally on Xbox One console.

    Make sure to change your vibration settings.

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then select Profile & system > Settings.
    Select Accessibility > Controller, and then select Vibration settings.
    If you have multiple controllers, choose the controller that you want to change and select Configure.
    For an Elite Series 2 controller, select the configuration profile that you want to change, select Edit > Vibration, and then move the sliders to adjust the vibration.
    For an Xbox Wireless Controller, select Turn on vibration to turn vibration on or off.
