Unable to make another XB1 my home console

hi, I hope someone can help.

I am I am unable to sign in on my brothers console and 'make it my home console'. I can sign in to my profile ok but when it comes to setting as home, there is a 3 console limit. I am aware it's a feature of the Xbox one that you can make a family members
console your home console in order for them to share your downloaded games etc. When I attempted to do this I was told I had reached my limit of sharing on 3 different consoles. That is not true as I have only previously set one other console as my home console.

After speaking to support this morning I was told it looked like it was related to the preview program I signed up for. I was advised by the operator the post a thread on these forums to ask for assistance. I thought this was strange as I was hoping the
person on the phone could resolve my problem.

can anyone advise me what to do next as I've hit a wall! Ideally I want my console count to be reset so I can set my brothers console as my home one. If that means leaving the preview program, I'm happy to do that.

every time i want to make my console as my home xbox, i get a message that something went wrong and we can't save changes.

please advise me.

Why has Microsoft set a limit on bandwidth coming from Xbox Live accounts?

my home console has an Xbox Live subscription. I am unable to make use of this subscription on the Xbox I brought with me to school

I don't know about the console limit but there is a limit of how many times you make a console your home console that is 3 times a year.

I was under the impression only one console at a time can be the home console and you can only change it a maximum of 3 times a year. The limit isn't actually 3 consoles, it's 3 changes.

How do those of you who have Two XB1s have yours setup? I was thinking about making the second XB1 the "main" console. Would this take care of that problem? If I sign in to the first XB1, the non "main" XB1, would my kids be able to use everything
on the "main" XB1 without my profile being signed in?

Yes. This works. Just have the console your kids play set as 'my home xbox' and they can play your games on their accounts while you play your own console with your account.

No, I have both the X360 disc, as well as the XB1 disc. Both consoles had the issue, but now only the XB1 is tripping. I am resetting the whole console (removing all accounts and data) in the hopes that whatever file messed up my game will be removed. I
would rather install everything again and it work than to continue uninstalling, checking the disc, etc for another several months. I clearly stated that my original issue was XB1 related.......I also clearly stated that since my XB1 disc/console wouldn't
work (and to confirm that it was a software issue and not a disc issue) that I also tried my 360 disc/console version. The results were similar besides the 360 version eventually let me get out of trial mode, while I am still unable to play the XB1 version.
