Unable to Link EA Account via Gamepass Cloud

Hello,

I’m trying to access EA games via Gamepass cloud. When booting up an EA game, I’m told that my EA account is recognized but the session is expired and I just need to reset my password. I scanned the QR code and followed the instructions to reset my password and log back in. No luck.

The last Xbox console I owned was a 360 which is tied to my EA account so I’m assuming that’s why the new games recognize that there’s an EA account associated with my gamertag.

I explained this to EA support and was told to link my accounts via my console. I told them that I don’t have a current Xbox console and am using Gamepass via cloud. After half an hour, they got back to me and said that the issue is that I need to link my accounts via my console…

Has anyone else experienced this? Any work around?

Maybe unlinking and linking the accounts might solve the problem. Could you try, please?

Hi Sammy, thanks for the info.

I checked out that page and tried signing in on the browser with my Xbox credentials as it suggested. I got a similar message to what the games are giving me; "Your log in credentials might have expired. Good news: all you need to do is reset your password."

I did that again and received an email from Microsoft saying that I had a new connection to my account (EA). When I tried to sign in to EA with my Xbox credentials again, I got the same message. I opened an EA game on Gamepass again and am still having the same issue.

I don't know if they told you but it is also possible to link the accounts through the browser. This link has the instructions, give it a try.

1. ea games via gamepass on PC are completely disconnected from xbox live, all it does is tell ea you have a sub and the games run via ea desktop app, so there is no cloud saving for those games.

2. majority of pc games via gamepass on PC don't support cross save or cloud saving, you would need to start afresh on the console versions.

purchasing ea play on pc is through ea app or via steam, if you have ultimate gamepass on xbox then you get access to ea play on the ea app on pc if the accounts are linked.

if you only have ea play on xbox then you need a separate sub for ea play with the ea app or steam.
