Unable to join Realms on Xbox One, but I can on other platforms

Child Xbox Live accounts

We keep younger players safe online with child accounts.

Players under 13 years old have online multiplayer disabled by default with Minecraft and won’t be able to join Realms or servers unless a parent changes their account settings. The settings that need to be allowed are:

• You can create and join clubs (more info on clubs is available here)
• You can join multiplayer games

For help with changing these account settings, you will need to change your Privacy and Online settings of
the Xbox Live account.

Depending on your region and the service you’re trying to access, a parent or guardian’s permission may be required for a child to create a Microsoft account. This is in accordance with certain regulations that promote child safety along with greater visibility
and management of data that is stored about your child online. For clarification on these regulations, read more on parental

Thanks for the update about your profile. We recommend to remove and re-download your profile on the Xbox one. Sometimes
the profile can become corrupt causing a variety of different issues.

Make sure you have registered an account of 18+ of age otherwise your parental account should give permission through privacy settings

I am an adult and my live profile has my correct name and DOB. The gamertag doesn’t use a child account.

Also, to reiterate, I’m able to join the Realm with this gamertag/account when I sign in and use Minecraft from

other devices, such as my iPad. It’s only on my Xbox One console where I can’t join. If this were an account level permission or setting issue, wouldn’t I be restricted from joining everywhere?

90% of the time when my wife tries to join my realm it says "We are unable to connect to Realms right now. We will try again soon."

I can play her account from my Windows 10 machine and it joins realms just fine. It just doesn't work on the XBox One.

The main "home" account on the Xbox One has a Gold subscription. I'm not sure why this is happening.
