Unable to join Private Chat/Party of a specific friend

I am unable to connect to a specific friend on XBL whether it be joining a party or a private chat. Both he and I have no issues joining other friends in a party or chat, just with each other. We can invite each other to a game, sometimes.

We have been able to connect to one another if we reset our internet/360's repeatedly (usually takes at least 45 minutes), so I know it's possible to join each other, just terribly unlikely and aggravating.

We've both reset out NAT settings on our respective 360's, but this hasn't helped as far as we can tell.

Sorry if this is a direct copy of something that has already hit the board, I've done a fair amount of research on the issue, but I haven't seen anything that follows perfectly in line with what I have going on. Any help is much appreciated!

Unable to join friend

Me and my friend ,naM sdrawkcaB A, are unable to enter into parties together(one of us will be unable to connect), unable to private chat, and unable to join games together. Please assist.

 

Other party members unable to use party chat after one person switches to party chat.

Hey, I'm having trouble with Party chat. It seems that every time I have a friend or two join a party with me, only one person is able to use party chat at any one time, while the others are stuck without party chat. This is odd, because on the launch night
I was able to join with a friend into party chat and talk fine, but now there's just a "unable to use party chat at this time. Please try again later" message that pops up for each of use if one person is already using party chat. It's being quite frustrating
being unable to talk to friends for a few days now over live, especially with Battlefield 4's horrible game party system.

 

its your internet and there internet not lining up per say. i have the same problem with a friend and that's what we have found it to be. to get around get better internet or have a 3rdparty invitee.

 

Yeah, a 3rd party member inviter isn't much of an option for us. It's it's true that out internet doesn't line up, is there anything I can do to troubleshoot?

 

Hey, Albino Bambino! Sorry you're running into this issue! Let's see if we can get you sorted out.

I see that you've restarted your router a few times and that fixes it temporarily. Sounds like you have a pretty basic NAT issue. If you post back your router information, we'll start from there. I'll need your router's manufacturer and model, as well as your
ISP (internet provider).

And just so you know, we typically work from oldest to newest here in the forums. Every time you bump, you essentially put it to the bottom of the list for us. Sorry it took us so long to get to you, though!

 

havin same issue exactly we both even got new routers hid id a dlink and mines net gear

 

Recently we've been having moderate luck with joining each others' party (we've both stop resetting our routers ad tedium), but even now the party joining is inconsistent at best. Worse yet, when I'm playing a game like, say, GTA V and we join a race together,
I almost always get booted/lose connection almost immediately after the race starts. So even when we;re in the same party, we still aren't quite able to play together.

Another thing: today I was in a party with a this friend and another person, but both myself and the other person could only communicate with my friend, and not to each other. My friend, on the other hand, could communicate with all three of us.

I don’t know if all this gives you an even better idea of what is going on.

Bambino, thanks for the reply. Sounds pretty much like you have a basic NAT issue, honestly. Do you know what router you use? I'll need that to figure out what steps we need to take to make sure we open up that NAT for you.
