unable to join game together in Destiny with friend who's on xbox 360 while I am on xbox ...

I am unable to invite an online friend in Destiny who's playing on an XBOX 360 while I am playing on an XBOX One. Is this a known limitation with cross platform friend games for Destiny or is there another reason why we can't play in the same game? When
I try to invite him, I can never "see him in the list of friends", but we are able to send messages back and forth so he is clearly online.

Xbox one game data to 360?

A friend of mine has destiny on xbox one, I have it on 360. We both have a xbox 360. Can my friend get destiny on 360 and transfer his lvl 20 warlock over to 360 so we can play together? until I get enough money for a xbox one. or is it only 1 way? from
360 to the one?

 

Greyed out Join and cannot join games.

Dear XBOX ONE Forum. I have a open NAT and I have reset my machine twice however, the join feature under friends is greyed out and I am also unable to join people on Destiny during a live game. What can I do to fix this?

 

You're showing up as silver on these forums, but we'll just ignore that for the moment... You won't be able to play with your friend on Destiny if they're using a 360 and you're on a One.

 

Xbox 360 gamers can only play with other Xbox 360 gamers. Xbox One gamers can only play with other Xbox one Gamers. The only game I know that will have the ability is World of Tanks.

 

Backwards compatibility isn't available to "EVERY" Xbox 1 owner. I think it's in Preview Testing or something maybe if you're in the Preview Program thingy you can experience it. Well, Microsoft lets us exchange VOICE messages between Xbox 360 and Xbox 1,
when Microsoft provides us the ability to verbally communicate using voice messages between Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 (which you can already do), maybe you'll be able to communicate verbally later. Microsoft are coding and software experts after all, they do make
operating systems for PCs.

 

Try and look at the topic SSB before you just repeat what you tend to keep repeating, its nothing to do with backwards compatibility, the OP is talking about playing Destiny cross platform which the helpful replies above have addressed.

 

Oops kk, theres far to many recent BC threads here I didn't read the title properly ;D. You pretty much can't cross platform chat in games between Xbox 360 and Xbox 1.

 

As Goth also alluded to, you're going to have to get a Gold membership to play online, but that is a whole other issue.
