Unable to join a minecraft realm

To put it simple, every time I try to join a friend's realm, it bugs me about not being able to join because of how my account was set up. I've tried most things, maybe I'm just dumb. But I seriously just want help, please and thank you!

Hey CG thanks for keeping us in the loop!

Since it hasn't been addressed yet we would like to add that a Microsoft Account once set up as a child has no way of graduating or upgrading to an adult account if it hasn't reached the legal age on its own. We suggest adding the account in question to
a
family and changing the settings from the adult account to see if there is any changes and keep us posted so we can further assist in this or any other issue or inquiry!

Thanks for helping me out. The account is already a part of a family. The adult account has the same settings enabled as mine and can join realms.
