    Unable to join a friend's world on Minecraft Bedrock Edition


    Hi there,

    My friend and I are having trouble joining each other's Minecraft worlds on Bedrock edition. Whenever we try, we get a message that says "unable to connect to world". This is a new issue and has only been happening for about 2 weeks. We are both still able
    to join a mutual realm, but can't join each personal worlds. I play on PC (and have also tried on Xbox One), and they play on Xbox One. We have checked both of our online settings and have made sure all the online permissions are allowed. We are also both
    on the same version of the game, and I have checked my firewall and network which both are functioning properly. Is there any fix to this problem?

    Is the friend that you want to play on Minecraft Bedrock Edition?

    About your two friends, are they the ones that gets the unable to join world message?

    Also, both are on the same Minecraft version?

    Difference in Minecraft Versions: Unable to Play with Friends

    Just to add to this, there are two versions of Minecraft for the PC. The bedrock edition (also known as Minecraft for Windows 10) and the Java edition.

    The bedrock version is the one needed if you wish to play with friends on their created worlds. This is a cross platform version, which means you can play with friends who use consoles or mobile devices. It also has access to realms and some servers.

    The Java edition basically has the same features, but the ability to play with friends is a bit limited. This version will only work with realms, lots of online servers, but limited to local LAN (in the same home) for user created worlds.

    So, the bedrock edition is better for playing with friends, as you have more options. The java edition is great if you like to use mods and stuff. Unfortunately, you will be unable to play together on the different versions.
