Unable to join a Fireteam in Destiny

Hello, for the past 3 weeks or so I haven't been able to reliably join a Fireteam in Destiny. I'm not sure if this is related to Destiny or my Xbox in general as I don't have any other online-based games to test.

• Sometimes when I'm on my own in Orbit, I'll be unable to launch, with "Waiting for party stabilization" coming up (which makes no sense when I'm not in a party or fireteam).
• When I join someone, usually it will join for a few seconds, then immediately go to a black screen and then return me back to Orbit on my own with no error code or message or anything. It doesn't matter if I'm joining someone or they're joining me.
• On some rare occasions I'll be able to play for a few minutes before the screen freezing for about a minute, then get an error messsage "You have left your current Fireteam. You are being returned to Orbit." During these times, I've checked connection strength
  several times and all members including me have always had green bars.
• When attempting to invite people to the game, the "Invite to Game" button can be sometimes greyed out, or sometimes flickering between grey and white. I've had messages from people saying they couldn't invite me because "Invite to Game" was greyed out for
  them.
• These problems only happen in a Fireteam. Playing normal Crucible, Strikes, etc on my own still works perfectly fine as usual and have most of the time a full green bar, on rare occasions I'll go down as far as a high yellow bar.

Stuff I've tried, I've done all of these multiple times:

• Signing out then in again
• Resetting
• Hard resetting
• Clearing my cache. This did appear to work once, for about a day I could join Fireteams as normal. This problem returned after that however, and clearing my cache hasn't worked since
• Connection tests- "Test network connection" and "Test multiplayer connection" both come back saying that everything's "all good"
• My NAT has always been Open ever since I got my Xbox (new) a few months ago
• Clearing my alternate MAC address
• Resetting my modem. I haven't changed any settings on my modem in the last year or so

I have noticed also that my Messages when I log in on my computer doesn't seem to be automatically in sync with my Xbox like it usually was before- I have to delete a message on my computer for it to update properly. I don't know
if that's a separate issue or not (and not one I'm worried about, just putting it down in case it's related).

Basically to me it feels like the game thinks I'm in two Fireteams at once when I join a Fireteam, and it cuts me off from the Fireteam with actual people in it. Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I know everyone has Destiny, so i would like to join your fireteam if interested.

 

Destiny - cannot join fireteam

Need advice. I can't join my son's fireteam and he can't join mine. When we try, it says "Joining Fireteam" and then immediately "Unable to join Fireteam please try again later." I can join other fireteam's no problem. So what's the issue? I do have Strict
NAT set up, but I also have Port Forwarding for Xbox live so it shouldn't be an issue.

How are you connected? If you are wireless try a wired connection. Also, can you please run a test here Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test and post back with your ping, up and download speeds?

 

I noticed some network issues of my own lately. Got kicked out a lot.

So first thing... as noted already... is this a wireless or wired connection?

How old is your modem? If old, have your helpdesk service provider run a diagnostic on your modem.

If wired, good modem, then try re-seating all your cables....

(Have you changed out any cables lately or moved any equipment?)
